Job Search Journal - 4/29/24

Hustling, yep! I updated my resume - 2 versions, perm and contract. My permanent resume is me in all my glory and my contract resume is me for now. Odd reality but the market is such that we job seekers have to be open. And as a single mom, I have to accept that my next role could be a gig. So I have been hard at work applying to many, many, many jobs every day. And I have to report that these are interesting times in the job market. I am finding that there are a lot more jobs outside of NYC, remote work is still a thing, and pay transparency has become not only a law but also a company culture. And, I am pleased to report that I received what felt like a thousand rejection emails which is actually good because recruiters are reviewing resumes and it felt better to be rejected than not to be seen.
